Russian travellers are increasingly eager to visit Peru for exploring its major tourist attractions and foremost natural landmarks, said Vladimir Belinsky, Minister Counselor of Russia’s Embassy to
Peru.
“Russian citizens fell attracted by the varied types of climatic zones in Peru, ranging from the Amazonian jungle to extremely dry desserts, plus the country’s delightful cuisine,” he said in statements to Andina news agency.
Moreover, the diplomat stressed the Peruvian capital Lima is set to become a tourism hub in South America for its fellow nationals, given that Russia is likely to be a new source market for tourism in the Andean nation.
Therefore, he said, the efforts of the embassy are oriented to promote the visit of Russian citizens to Peru.
In this regard, Belinsky hailed as a breakthrough and a clear indication of the growing ties between the two countries the recent visa waiver agreement for Russian visitors to Peru.
“Now it is required to increase direct flights to a wider array of destinations across the region from Peru, in addition to those covering Cuba and Mexico,” he said.
