Tourism Tofino launches campaign with BC Ferries to draw more tourists

BC Ferries
Whale sighting is an awesome experience to put it mildly. Kicking off what is expected to be a banner whale and wildlife watching season, Tourism Tofino announced the “Get On the Water” campaign which includes a
travel promotion with BC Ferries designed to attract more visitors to the West Coast of Vancouver Island.

There are certain conditions attached to the campaign. Throughout April 2014, visitors who pre-register to stay two nights with a Tofino accommodation provider and participate in a guided on-the-water experience receive a complimentary one-way BC Ferries voucher for a standard vehicle, driver and passenger.

“We are excited to offer complimentary ferry passage to travellers from the Lower Mainland, British Columbia,” said Kirsten Soder, General Manager of Tourism Tofino. “Spring arrives early in Tofino and April offers a variety of unique adventures and wildlife encounters available nowhere else in the world. We’re making it easy for travellers to enjoy Tofino’s wide variety of accommodations and on-the-water activities at this time of year, and although you can fly in and out of Tofino daily from Vancouver, the ferry to Vancouver Island is a hallmark of the coastal BC experience.”

“BC Ferries is very pleased to work with Tourism Tofino to help bring more visitors to Vancouver Island,” said Janet Carson, BC Ferries’ Vice President of Marketing and Travel Services. “The ‘Get On the Water’ promotion is sure to appeal to travellers looking for the type of unique experience that Tofino offers.”

Located on the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, Tofino is bounded by the open Pacific Ocean, Pacific Rim National ParkReserve and the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. A year-round travel destination, Tofino is known for its kilometres of sandy beaches, acclaimed accommodations, a growing collection of eateries specializing in boat-to-table cuisine, and unparalleled marine adventures including whale and wildlife watching, saltwater and freshwater fishing, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking and Hot Springs Cove excursions.
