Vietnam flag
The Duong Lam ancient village in Vietnam has received a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation, Vietnam News Agency
(VNA) reported.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang Thi Bich Lien said at the award ceremony on Tuesday that a project aimed at conserving five buildings in Duong Lam village had improved living conditions for locals.

Head of UNESCO office in Hanoi Katherine Muller Marin said the project had restored the original appearance of Duong Lam village, and ensured that structures were being regularly maintained.

A similar award was presented to other preservation projects in Vietnam in the last ten years: a lost bomb shelter at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel Hanoi (2013); Tang family chapel (2009); ancient Viet house (2004); and Hoi An ancient town (2000).
