The masterchef which the influential Sunday Times named as the UK’s No: 1 chef is heading to the UAE capital in February for a starring role in the annual Gourmet Abu Dhabi culinary festival.
Michael Caines – who was awarded the Member of the British Empire (MBE) medal by Queen Elizabeth for his services to the hospitality industry – will be spearheading a restaurant promotion in the distinctly French ambiance of Brasserie Angelique at the five-star Jumeirah at Etihad Towers from February 5-8.
“Michael is the epitome of fine dining culinary excellence in England and trained under some of the best chefs in France. His dishes have been praised as original and brilliant by some of the world’s most discerning food critics.” said Doris Greif, General Manager of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers.
“Guests will truly be in for a treat at Michael’s restaurant promotions and our kitchen staff are already looking forward to working with a man who has taken award after award during his career.”

“Michael’s passion for food has transcended everything. He lost an arm in a car accident and yet was remarkably back in his kitchen two weeks later and went out to cook for Britain’s Prime Minister and for Queen Elizabeth’s 80th birthday,” explained Noura Al Dhaheri of the Gourmet Abu Dhabi organizing committee.
“His resilience and remarkable dedication will be on display when he demonstrates his art and shares techniques at the Culinary Creation Stage at the Westin Golf Resort & Spa on February 7th and 8th. These events represent some of the best value around at only AED200 for one day and AED350 for the two days when you get to sample the fare and absorb the knowledge of the some of the greatest chefs on the planet.”
