Hillside slum hotels of Rio to make it big for the World Cup

Hillside slum hotels of Rio
With less than four months to go for the  World Cup, hillside slums of Rio de Janeiro’s are providing the best view and the best stay options for tourists with cheapest room rents.

The residents of these infamous addresses are offering beds, rooms and sometimes entire houses and youth hostels and buildings. People are flocking here in numbers to get the actual feel of the football event along with the true flavour of Brazil.

Beds at hostels in Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, which usually go for around $40 a night, are expected to cost as much as $400 during the World Cup. Hotels are even more expensive, with many requiring multiple-night stays. Bunks at the Alto Vidigal Hostel will charge $65 which is four times the usual price but it still come cheaper.

The area however does not cater to upmarket tastes. It has garbage piled up with bad living conditions. The roads are quite terrible and the place is flanked with drug traffickers and is often stormed by police. So to keep your stay safe avoid drugs and women, say the locals.

It is expected that 600,000 foreign fans will visit Brazil for the World Cup and the rush will be mostly for the rooms that have a price tag of $50. It will give a more authentic, lively and true experience of Rio and are sure to be the most tourist populated locations for the World Cup.
