Two dead and many injured in a train accident in France

-
In an appalling train accident in Southern France, two travellers lost their lives and nine others were severely injured. The train travelling from the coastal city of Nice to the town of
Digne-les-Bains got derailed after hitting a rock on the rails.

Emergency services were deployed immediately and a red alert suggesting “several victims” was issued. Almost 110 fire-fighters and 32 rescue vehicles were deployed along with two helicopters.

According to the latest reports, a few of the injured were critical while they were admitted to the nearby hospital. The main problem that the rescue team faced while reaching the spot was heavy snow.

In July 2013, Paris witnessed a commuter train accident where seven passengers were killed. This incident comes as the second train disaster in the last eight months.
