Heavy rain stops traffic in parts of Dubai

With Dubai making great plans for 2020, it will surely have to do better with its drainage system. Traffic in the Emirates came to a standstill as wet weather conditions waterlogged the roads. Resident near
Discovery Gardens and Ibn Battuta Mall, said that children waited for more than two hours for their school buses to arrive and reached school at 11.00 am

The cars were swimming in the gardens and people were only able to use one exit which too was flooded due to rain. The rain began early morning as dark clouds loomed over the capital and the mid morning saw heavy rainfall in some areas.


Motorists have been urged to be extra cautious when driving, and to keep a safe distance between vehicles. Traffic congestion & delays from the Bridges compound to Mussafah Bridge said the traffic police. People have been advised to leave enough space between vehicles and to exert caution on road.


The weather will be partly cloudy in general and the amount of clouds will increase over some areas especially over the northern and eastern areas, with a chance of scattered rain during the evening and at night, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).


Temperatures are likely to remain cool with highs of 20°C to 26°C in the interior and 19°C to 24°C on the coast. The weather on Friday will remain cloudy with chance of rainfall in the coastal area.
