Egypt militants warn tourists to leave country by February 20

egypt unrest
A pro-Islamist militant group has warned tourists to leave Egypt by February 20th and threatened to attack those not complying with the deadline set by them. The Sinai-based Islamist militant group Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, the
organization behind the recent suicide bombing that killed two South Korean tourists, warned tourists to face dire consequences if they don’t leave the country before February 20th.

Extremist militant organizations have been on the rise in Egypt since the army ousted Islamist Mursi in July following mass protests against his rule.

Since then, the army has been on the hunt for Islamist militants and Mursi’s Muslim Brotherhood which authorities labelled a terrorist organization.

Tourists are advised to check with the officials before travelling to any tourist destination in Egypt.
