ASTA’s Chapter Presidents Share Best Practices

ASTA
The American Society of Travel Agents’ (ASTA) Chapter Presidents Council (CPC) met Feb. 7-9 at the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center to share best practices in
chapter development. The meeting was hosted by Scott Pinheiro, President of Santa Cruz Travel and an owner of the Beach Street Inn and Suites, and ASTA’s NorCal chapter.

ASTA president and CEO, Zane Kerby, provided the Council with an overview of the current travel agency marketplace, a look of ASTA’s new strategic direction and a glimpse at the Society’s consumer awareness efforts. ASTA chair, John I. Lovell, CTC, also spoke to the group.

“ASTA’s chapters are vital to the Society’s success, and this meeting has clearly helped the Society’s chapter leaders develop stronger chapter programs that will provide members with a platform to network and grow,” said ASTA president and CEO, Zane Kerby. “Healthy, vibrant chapters are essential for developing a strong grass roots base for the Society’s advocacy initiatives.”
