In the continuous drive by the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture to be updated with the progress in the tourism industry and to hear the ever changing challenges being faced by
the industry, Minister Alai St.Ange is again this year engaging in a series of meetings with the island’s tourism trade partners.
In 2013 Alain St.Ange, the Minister for Tourism and Culture sought to re-assure trade partners on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue that his Ministry was managed with an open door policy and welcomed Industry Members for meetings. Now right at the start of 2014 Minister St.Ange swings back into meeting mode to remain connected with the island’s tourism trade partners. The first in a series of meeting will start on the island of La Digue before moving to other Islands and Regions. On Friday 17th January Minister St.Ange accompanied by Anne Lafortune, the Principal Secretary of Tourism, and Representatives from the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) will be on La Digue for a general tourism trade meeting.
Their mission is to take stock on the progress already achieved since the last meeting called by Minister St.Ange with his La Digue trade partners in 2013. “We will listen to their concerns, hear their successes and come up with comprehensive solutions to move the La Digue tourism industry another step forward in 2014″ Minister St.Ange said. It must be remembered that President James Michel has always encouraged members of his Government to remain connected with the people and the industry they represent.
In 2013 Minister St.Ange worked with the La Digue tourism trade partners and colleague Ministers in working to try to solve a number of challenges for the island tourism establishment. La Digue prides itself for its small home grown small hotels offering to the world the affordable Seychelles concept. Alain St.Ange, the Minister for Tourism and Culture said this coming La Digue will help him keep his finger on the pulse and in so doing be better prepared to work to consolidate the tourism industry of Seychelles. The Department of the Environment will also be present at this La Digue meeting to hear the island’s tourism trade.
The half day meeting on La Digue will start at 11am at La Digue’s Patratran Village Hotel.
