ACC Liverpool was named Best UK Conference Centre and Liverpool Convention Bureau was awarded bronze in the Best UK Convention Bureau category at the M& IT Industry Awards, hosted by
magazine Meetings and Incentive Travel.The ceremony, held at Battersea Evolution, London, celebrates the best UK venues, destinations and suppliers in the events industry, as voted for by meeting industry professionals.
Bob Prattey, chief executive of ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, said: “We are extremely proud to have retained this award – regarded as the ‘Oscar’ of the meeting and events industry – as it is voted for by our clients and industry colleagues.
“Last week we broke ground on Exhibition Centre Liverpool and to embark on the next phase of our journey with a vote of confidence from the industry will provide an even bigger boost to the ACC Liverpool team.”
Emma Bellis, head of Liverpool Convention Bureau, added: “It’s a real honour to be awarded bronze in the Best UK Convention Bureau by those in the industry who are best placed to judge.
“Ahead of such a fantastic year which includes the International Festival for Business in June and July, this comes as a timely boost and will help us to encourage more and more conferences and exhibitions to choose Liverpool.”
