Gas cylinder explodes in restaurant in Doha killing 12

A gas cylinder exploded on a roof top restaurant in Doha, Qatar killing 12 and injuring 31. The restaurant collapsed injuring customers, employees and people walking past the
restaurant. Nearby building were also damaged and cars near the restaurant, which is close to the city’s popular Landmark Mall.

The force of the blast spread 165 feet (50 meters), Qatar’s Interior Ministry said.

It’s not known at this time what caused the gas cylinder to explode. Authorities were investigating reasons for the blast.
