Vietnam plans to develop Ninh Thuan province into key tourism area by 2020

Vietnam plans
The Vietnamese government plans to develop the central coastal province of Ninh Thuan into a key tourism area by 2020, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

Under a 2020-2030 master plan, Ninh Thuan will develop a number of national and regional tourism sites with the goal of attracting 1.4 million domestic and foreign visitors by 2015.

Ninh Thuan is also targeting three million tourist arrivals by 2020 with US$335 million in revenue and 44,000 new jobs.

To achieve these goals, the locality will focus on boosting arrivals from Vietnam’s traditional markets including Russia, France, Germany, United Kingdom, U.S., Southeast and Northeast Asian nations.

It will work with other localities across the country to diversify tourism products such as marine-based tourism, cultural-historical and adventurous tourism, and open new tourism routes.

Transport, electricity and water supply will also be upgraded in developing the province.

Ninh Thuan received 1.1 million tourist arrivals last year, an increase of 15.7 percent from 2012.
