Come to tea at The Kensington Hotel and you might have to share the delightfully delicious biscuits, buns and cakes with a friendly but very hungry Tiger! In an unique partnership with
The National Youth Theatre, The Kensington Hotel continues its hugely successful ‘Afternoon Tea and Storytelling for the Little Ones’ and has an exciting programme of stories planned for 2014. The much-loved tale of tea-time mayhem, ‘The Tiger who came for tea’ will kick off the start of the storytelling season and promises to dazzle and delight both young ‘Sophies’, ‘Tigers’ and ‘grown ups’ alike.
Each month, The National Youth Theatre will bring along the very best young actors and actresses to present ‘Mr. & Mrs. Doyle’ and their magical storytelling chair – reading and performing a mixture of fabulous fairytales and children’s classics with a twist.
The Kensington Hotel and The Doyle Collection as a group, are great advocates of the work that The National Youth Theatre does with talented young people. The storytelling initiative that has been established, enables the young aspiring actors and actresses to learn the niche skill of storytelling, whilst allowing the hotel to offer a great traditional form of family entertainment for ‘little ones’ and ‘grown ups’ in the local area.
Inspired by children’s classics, the Afternoon Tea for the ‘Little Ones’ menu includes a selection of tempting triangle sandwiches with fillings such as heavenly honey roast ham & mustard, extremely eggy mayonnaise & cress and super sweet strawberry jam; ludicrously lovely vanilla fairy cakes; tremendously terrific fruity marshmallows; choccy chip chocolate brownie fingers and generously iced Gingerbread men, as well as traditional home made fruit scones served with jam and lashings of clotted cream.
The ‘grown ups’ can join in with the ‘little ones’, whilst enjoying their own version of afternoon tea in the enchanting setting of the private dining room from 4pm until 5.30pm – a great after school treat. The hotel will also give each child an old fashioned lucky bag filled with an array of goodies to take home.
