Air Canada has issued a travel advisory for Pearson, warning of possible delays due to the snow and the prevailing extreme weather in the country. So far, there have been about 10
cancellations and more than 20 delays. Porter has also issued a weather advisory for Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for much of southern Ontario,
including the City of Toronto, Halton, Peel, York, Durham and Hamilton.

The front could bring two to four centimetres of snow in some places, with areas north east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay potentially seeing up to 10 centimetres.

The Canadian city of Toronto has issued an extreme cold weather alert, triggering additional
complications for the homeless.

There’s a low of -18 C in the forecast, 680News meteorologist Jill Taylor said, with a wind chill near -27 C.

Environment Canada has also issued a wind chill warning for the city and much of southern
Ontario, including Hamilton, Halton, Peel, York and Durham.

Wind chills of -30 C to -35 C are possible on Monday night and Tuesday morning. Environment Canada says an Arctic air mass has settled over southern Ontario, and the combination of cold temperatures and moderate northwesterly winds could lead to wind chills.

An arctic air mass will settle over southern Ontario, sending the mercury down with wind chill values between -25 C and -35 C on Tuesday morning.

Light snow is falling – it could be heavy at times in spots on Monday morning but is expected to taper off.
