As Agaton continued to move closer to Mindanao, villages are flooded in Butuan City. The flooding in Butuan City has evacuated more or less 3,438 families with
at least 13,752 individuals, according to the Philippine Information Agency-Caraga. Some families in the affected villages are yet to be relocated.
Food packs were distributed in many evacuation centers whereas repacking continues to augment the supply. Meanwhile, due to the heavy rains and strong winds, the province of Dinagat Islands is experiencing massive power disruption since Friday evening. Work in Provincial, municipal offices and schools are suspended in the entire province since Friday.
Sea travel in the ports of Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands were also cancelled by the Philippine Coast Guard-Surigao Norte Station. Fishermen in Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and the Davao region have been requested not to go out to sea.
According to Weather Philippines, Agaton will make landfall long the Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur border Saturday evening. The tropical depression will then shift along the provinces of Agusan del Norte and the eastern part of Misamis Oriental Sunday evening. Agaton is likely to be over Northern Bukidnon by early morning Monday.
